Jennifer Rene Psaki

Jennifer Rene Psaki is a American political advisor who served as the 34th White House news secretary between 2021 and 221. As a part of the Democratic Party, she previously worked in the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) and the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011) as well as the spokesperson for the United States Department of State (2013-2015) as well as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was a political contributor to CNN from 2017 until 2020. Psaki began her career in 2001 as an official political contributor for CNN. She worked on the campaign for re-election of Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki was later appointed deputy press secretary to John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki was in office from 2005 until 2006 as the communications director for Joseph Crowley, U.S. representative, as well as as the regional press secretary to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was press secretary for the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. [20] Psaki was named the spokesperson of the United States Department of State. The appointment at the Department of State fueled speculation that she could replace White House Press Secretary Jay Carney as he left for the White House, on May 30th in 2014 it was announced Josh Earnest would replace Carney. She returned to the White House in 2015 to serve as communications director. She was a part of the Obama administration until its conclusion.
